59-year-old man injured, another man charged after stabbing incident in Hopewell
HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) — One person was injured and another person was charged after a stabbing incident took place in Hopewell early Saturday morning.
At around 3:35 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, officers with the Hopewell Police Department responded to the 900 block of Cedar Street following a report of a man who had been stabbed.
Upon arrival, officers found a 59-year-old man suffering from two stab wounds. Police said he was involved in a verbal and physical altercation.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. He is expected to make a full recovery, per police.
Hopewell Police identified the suspect as Reginald Winfield and took him into custody at the scene. He was charged with malicious wounding.
Winfield is being held without bond at Riverside Regional Jail. Police continue to investigate.
