64-year-old Richmond woman found shot dead during welfare check

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A 64-year-old Richmond woman was found shot dead during a welfare check Tuesday morning.
Just before 7:45 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, officers with the Richmond Police Department were called to a home in the 1600 block of Rosecrest Avenue for a welfare check.
When they arrived, they found 64-year-old Teresa Jackson of Richmond lying on the floor of the home with a gunshot wound. She died at the scene.
Jackson's death is being investigated as a homicide.
