74-year-old man dies after vehicle crashes into VDOT sign on I-64 in Henrico

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A 74-year-old man is dead after his vehicle crashed into a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) sign on Interstate 64 in Henrico County Sunday morning.
At 5:20 a.m. on Sunday, July 6, a 2008 Dodge sedan was traveling eastbound on I-64, just before the 200-mile marker, when the vehicle reportedly ran off the right side of the roadway, hit a ditch and continued through the grass before hitting a VDOT sign on the driver's side.
According to Virginia State Police, the vehicle then spun and stopped to rest in the ditch.

Crews with Henrico County Fire responded to the scene where the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle -- identified as 74-year-old John Albert Price, of Highland Springs -- was pronounced dead at 5:31 a.m.
Virginia State Police said the crash remains under investigation.
