804 Day returns to Shockoe Bottom with variety of musical acts

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 804 Day returns to 17th Street Market in Richmond this Saturday.

From 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, attendees can expect 10 performers on 3 stages, and more than 40 vendors and nonprofits.

Planned performers include:

  • Kadencia Orchestra
  • Høly River
  • REIN
  • Weldon Hill Quintet
  • Bucko
  • Los Hermanos Alacranes
  • Flora and The Fauna
  • Kaay Taurus
  • Vexine

Rapper Nickelus F. said the day will showcase the spirit of Richmond artists.

"There's a lot of soul and integrity in the music here, and a real sort of DIY -- do it yourself sort of attitude," he said.

Other artists 8News spoke to said 804 Day is a unique opportunities for performers.

"There's sort of a Renaissance in Richmond," performer Weldon Hill, told 8News. "It feels like the mid 80s where there are a zillion great bands around. Venues are having live music all over the place. We've never before had an opportunity like 804 Day that brings together so many musicians and artists from all genres into this one great place where we can celebrate each other, the music and the city."
