8News Anchor Delaney Hall announces newest addition to Good Morning Richmond team

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Good Morning Richmond team will soon be welcoming its newest addition, following a special announcement by 8News Anchor Delaney Hall Monday morning.

In the morning on Monday, July 28, 8News Anchor Delaney Hall announced that she and her husband, John, are expecting their first baby, due in January of 2026.

"This is truly the biggest blessing to our family," Hall said. "It's an answered prayer, and we are so excited to be parents."

Hall said that in addition to this being the couple's first child, the baby will be the first grandchild on both sides of their family.

8News Anchor Autumn Childress and Forecaster Tyler Hall shared their excitement and congratulations following the big announcement.

"You all are going to be amazing parents, I can't imagine how fun of a household it's going to be with you and John as parents," Childress said.
