8News gets decoration demonstration ahead of Christmas cookie workshop

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a decoration demonstration on Monday ahead of a Christmas cookie decorating workshop happening in Glen Allen this weekend.

8News anchors Autumn Childress and Madison Moore were joined by Mitzi Batterson, owner of James River Cellars Winery, and Carla Mentry, owner of The Caring Cookie, to talk about what people can expect.

"It's going to be something fun, and then, you know, depending on how fast you finish, depends on how soon you eat your cookies," Batterson said.

People can head to James River Cellars Winery, at 11008 Washington Highway, at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, for the hands-on workshop -- which Mentry talked more about as she demonstrated some decorations for the hosts.

"No experience necessary, we provide all the supplies, and obviously wonderful things to sip as you're decorating," Mentry said. "So we're happy to show you how the holiday magic is created, with these cookies."
