8News gets sneak peek of RPAA’s Party for the Arts

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from a special guest with the Richmond Performing Arts Alliance (RPAA) on Thursday to talk about their upcoming Party for the Arts: A Night in Paris event.

8News anchors Autumn Childress and Delaney Hall were joined by Abbi Haggerty, executive director at RPAA, to talk about what people can expect.

"We are offering a fully curated evening of French inspired food, amazing performances, we'll have a silent auction, guests can roam the lobbies of the historic Carpenter Theater and then we'll all join together on stage for a performance and then awards ceremony to honor some arts educators in our community," Haggerty said.

The event will take place at the Dominion Energy Center on Thursday, Nov. 20 starting at 6 p.m., and people are encouraged to wear chic, modern attire inspired by French style.

"We invest in artists themselves, we invest in arts education opportunities for students, as well as the preservation of our historic theaters here in Richmond," Haggerty said.
