‘A Night for Scott’ returns for 9th year to raise money for local recovery resources
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News is partnering with 2 End the Stigma for their annual "A Night for Scott" event, which will return to the Richmond area for its ninth year in February to help raise money for local recovery resources.
Guests can attend "A Night for Scott: Cupid Ball for Scott" on Saturday, Feb. 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. at The Dominion Club located at 6000 Dominion Club Drive.
The event aims to honor the life of Scott Neal Zebrowski, twin brother of 2 End the Stigma founder Jill Cichowicz, who died from fentanyl poisoning almost nine years ago.
8News got a visit from Cichowicz, as well as supporter and former professional football player Ken Oxendine, to talk about what their work means to them and the community.
"We're trying to educate everybody in that space to understand," Oxendine said. "And especially kids and the youth, because those are the ones that are affected a lot because they don't know."
Attendees of "A Night for Scott" can expect live music and entertainment, a live auction, tributes to Scott and several chances to support 2 End the Stigma's mission of bringing awareness to the impact of substance use disorder.
Opportunities for sponsorships and vendor spaces are still available. For more information on how to participate, visit the 2 End the Stigma website.
