Ambulance driver dead after dump-truck crash in King and Queen County
KING AND QUEEN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- An ambulance driver was killed in a dump-truck crash that happened Thursday morning on Route 360.
Troopers were dispatched to the crash at 6:50 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, after a dump truck attempted to use a crossover and pulled in front of an ambulance, according to Virginia State Police (VSP).
Authorities said the driver of the ambulance died due to their injuries at the scene. The driver of the dump truck was also taken to the hospital.
There was a passenger in the ambulance, who was taken to the hospital, but the ambulance itself was not responding to a call and did not have a patient inside.
The crash is still under investigation.
