Armenian Food Festival returns to Richmond for 65th year

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from a special guest on Thursday to talk about the upcoming Armenian Food Festival.

8News anchor Delaney Hall was joined by Marty Mooradian, the event's organizer, to talk about Richmond's oldest food festival and what people can expect.

"It really helps us showcase the culture, because a lot of folks don't even know we have an Armenian community here in Richmond, and it's our chance to say 'hey we're here,'" Mooradian said. "You have two days where you can also be Armenian with us, and we look forward to this every single year."

The festival will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, and Saturday, Oct. 4, at St. James Armenian Church at 834 Pepper Ave.

People will have the chance to experience several different types of Armenian cuisine -- some of which Mooradian brought to the studio -- live music, dancing, wine and more.
