Boil water advisory issued for Northeast Creek customers in Louisa County

LOUISA COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A boil water advisory has been issued for Louisa County residents in the Northeast Creek area.

According to the Louisa County Water Authority, a main break causing pressure to fall below 20 PSI at certain connections has occurred.

The County Water Authority, is also advising that all customers between St. Judes Roman Catholic Church and the Town of Mineral, including Poplar as well as Onionville Road to boil their drinking water.

This boil water advisory is in effect until further notice, according to the county, "Failure to follow this advisory could result in stomach or intestinal illness."

According to the county: "To boil water: Bring all tap water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water."
