Boil water advisory lifted for Hanover County’s Doswell area

HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The boil water advisory issued for Hanover County's Doswell area has been lifted, according to county officials.

According to a post by Hanover County on Monday, June 23, a second round of tests confirmed that the water is safe to consume, and the boil water advisory for the county's Doswell area was lifted.

The advisory was issued on Saturday, June 21, after an overnight water main break near the county's Doswell water treatment plant caused a drop in water pressure across the Doswell area.

The advisory included homes and businesses north of Hickory Hill Road along the Route 1 corridor to the Verdon Road area, as well as the Route 30 corridor from Route 1 to Meadow Event Park.

The advisory caused Kings Dominion to close for the weekend.

Kings Dominion has announced that it reopened at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 23, with possible delays at some amenities.
