Boy shot in the hand, injured in Richmond’s Southside

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A boy is injured after police said he was shot in the hand in Richmond's Southside Monday evening.
At 7:35 p.m. on Monday, July 28, officers with the Richmond Police Department responded to the 5700 block of Westover Village Drive for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they found a boy with a gunshot wound to his left hand. His injury was reportedly non-life-threatening, according to officials.
Police said the boy was immediately taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
