Catch the Chuck Brown Band at Richmond’s 2nd Street Festival in October

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- 8News got a visit from a special guest with the Chuck Brown Band on Wednesday to talk about their upcoming headlining performance at the 2nd Street Festival in Richmond.

8News anchors Autumn Childress and Madison Moore were joined by Wiley Brown, son of Chuck Brown -- the "Godfather of Go-Go" and originator of the Chuck Brown Band -- to talk about what people can expect.

"They can expect a party from start to finish," Brown said. "Go-go music, once it gets going, you can't do nothing but start moving your body, moving your feet, cause it just gets into you.

2nd Street Festival returns to Jackson Ward for 37th year with music and culture

The 2nd Street Festival will take place in Jackson Ward on Saturday, Oct. 4 and Sunday, Oct. 5, with the Chuck Brown Band set to headline on Saturday. Brown said the event is a big party with something for people of all ages.

"Y'all be on the lookout, because go-go music is going to take over Richmond for a little bit," Brown said.
