Hopewell ice cream, burger restaurant to open new location

HOPEWELL, Va. (WRIC) -- A Hopewell ice cream and burger restaurant is expanding, with the grand opening of its new location set for mid-April.

At 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, City Point Ice Cream and Burgers will host a grand opening ceremony for its new and expanded location at 238 E. Broadway in downtown Hopewell, according to an April 6 press release from the business.

City Point Ice Cream and Burgers initially opened in 2022. In the years since, the restaurant has "quickly become a local favorite, known for its welcoming atmosphere and quality offerings," per the release.

"The expansion reflects both the continued success of the business and the growing momentum of Downtown Hopewell as a destination for dining, small business development and community activity," the release reads.

Owner Philip Hughes said that all of those at City Point are thankful for the community's support over the years.

“This new location is a dream realized for us — it allows us to serve more customers, expand our menu and operations and continue investing in the city that has supported us from day one," he said in the release. "We’re excited to grow alongside Hopewell and be part of its bright future.”
