Central Virginia law enforcement agencies celebrate National Night Out 2025

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Multiple law enforcement agencies throughout Central Virginia are celebrating National Night Out, an event that aims to bring community members together from all walks of life.

This year's National Night Out will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 5, with agencies urging people to come out and connect with people at events happening across neighborhoods and communities.

Chesterfield County Police Department

For Chesterfield County residents, a variety of special events are being hosted from 5 to 9 p.m. -- including block parties, cookouts, police visits and more.

While the events promote community engagement, officials are also hoping they will heighten awareness of crime and drug prevention as well as generate support for local anti-crime efforts.

Goochland County Sheriff's Office

While Goochland County had originally planned to celebrate National Night Out on Aug. 5, officials sent out a release stating that their event had been postponed. Authorities said a new date will be shared when it becomes available.

Henrico County Police Department

Henrico County is celebrating National Night Out with events like cookouts, block parties, ice-cream socials, parades, pool parties and more.

Staff with Henrico Police, alongside other Henrico County representatives, will visit the various events in different neighborhoods throughout the evening. In terms of when the events will take place, times can range from periods set between 4 and 9 p.m.

Richmond Police Department

The city of Richmond will be celebrating National Night Out with block parties, cookouts, parades, flashlight walks, contests, youth activities and more. Police staff and other first responders will be in attendance at the events.
