Charles City County deputy hospitalized after single-vehicle crash on Ruthville Road

CHARLES CITY COUNTY, VA. (WRIC) -- A Charles City County deputy was hospitalized after authorities say they were involved in a single-vehicle crash on Ruthville Road on Friday.

The afternoon of Friday, Oct. 25, a Charles City County deputy was involved in a single-vehicle crash on Ruthville Road, according to the sheriff's office.

Virginia State Police said the crash took place at 4:48 p.m. on Friday, and that the deputy was responding to a crash when the deputy lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway.

Authorities said the deputy was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

State police will be conducting a full investigation, according to the sheriff's office.
