Chess and Strategy Games Expo returning to Henrico County

HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The second annual Chess and Strategy Games Expo will return to Henrico County at the end of October.

Hosted by Henrico County Public Schools (HCPS) Gifted Programs, the expo will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 22 from 4:45 to 7 p.m. at the Oak Avenue Complex, located at 15 S. Oak Ave.

The event was created to provide opportunities for K-12 students and their families to explore the world of strategic thinking -- with a free pizza dinner included.

Participants will have the chance to play and watch chess matches as well as take part in other events like Esports, 24 Math, Rubik's Cube and more.

Additionally, President of the Virginia Scholastic Chess Association Mike Hoffpauir, will be returning as the event's keynote speaker.
