Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia DWR to host free Hunter Safety Education classes

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office is again partnering with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) to host two-night in-person Hunter Safety Education classes.

The sheriff's office said it has partnered with DWR to provide Hunter Safety Education classes to the community for 32 years. The classes are designed to teach hunting safety, conservation principles and sportsmanship.

This fall, two-night in-person classes will be hosted in October and November, with limited seating.

The first two-night in-person class of the fall will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 at the Eanes-Pittman Public Training Center, located at 6610 Public Safety Way.

The second will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 18 and Nov. 19 at the same location.

Classes are free to attend and are required for new hunters.
