Chesterfield County to hold community ‘Tree Walk of the Arboretum’ event

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A community tree walk event of the Chesterfield County Arboretum area will be held on Wednesday.

The walk will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 17, from 10:30 a.m. to noon and will last anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour, according to the county. The event will be held rain or shine.

Participants are asked to meet outside the entrance to the Lane B. Ramsey Administrative Building. Wearing sturdy shoes and bringing water is advised.

The Arboretum is located on a 580-acre complex and is home to several trees, perennials, shrubs and an "urban orchid."

"The arboretum strives to maintain an engaging green space for all Chesterfield community members, connecting people to nature in the urban environment," according to the county's website.
