Chesterfield hotel fire causes water damage, guests in 12 rooms temporarily relocated

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Guests staying in 12 rooms at a Chesterfield County hotel were displaced after a fire on Wednesday.

At about 11:08 a.m. on Wednesday, April 9, crews with Chesterfield County Fire and EMS were called to the 2100 block of West Hundred Road for a report of a structure fire.

The fire, which began in a cleaning closet, was put out by the hotel's sprinkler system.

Guests staying in 12 hotel rooms have been temporarily relocated to other rooms in a Chesterfield County hotel due to water damage. Parts of the first and second floors suffered smoke and water damage, according to officials.

Officials said there were no other reported injuries.

As of the time of reporting, fire crews are still on scene investigating what caused the fire.
