Chesterfield house fire displaces two on Halloween night

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County Fire and EMS is investigating a house fire that forced two people from their home on Thursday night. Around 6:45 p.m. on Oct. 31, fire crews were called to the 4500 block of Centralia Road for a reported house fire. "Trick-or-treaters walking by spotted the fire and called 911," a social post from Chesterfield Fire and EMS reads. When firefighters arrived, they found a fire coming from an exterior corner of the home that had spread to the second floor and the attic. The fire was marked under control within 20 minutes, according to authorities. There were no injuries reported but two people were displaced as a result of the fire. Officials said they are currently being assisted by family members. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
