Chesterfield man sentenced to 7 years, 8 months for possessing meth with intent to distribute

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A Chesterfield man has been sentenced to seven years and eight months behind bars for possessing drugs with the intent to distribute.

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the sentence on Thursday, March 5, came after 34-year-old Hunter Brandon Orlowski was spotted leaving his home with a tan backpack on July 19, 2024. He had multiple pending arrest warrants at the time.

Officers with the Chesterfield County Police Department blocked the driveway and prevented Orlowski from fleeing on a motorcycle. They recovered 2.08 grams of marijuana, four morphine tablets, 45 amphetamine tablets, 107 Xanax tablets, 118.49 grams of methamphetamine and 9.59 grams of cocaine, fentanyl and oxycodone.

Authorities said Orlowski's backpack also contained a loaded pistol, 67 rounds of ammunition, 72 needles, a digital scale, a knife and 11 suboxone packets.

Orlowski was previously convicted on multiple occasions between 2013 and 2024 for possession of a controlled substance, distributing a controlled substance, possessing ammunition as a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, receipt of stolen goods, eluding police and conspiracy by a prisoner to possess marijuana or a schedule III controlled substance.

The case is part of the Justice Department's Operation Take Back America. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Chesterfield Police investigated the case.
