Chesterfield Police apologize for incorrect school zone citations
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Chesterfield County Police Department has been made aware of warning citations that were issued to drivers who did not exceed the speed limit in the Woolridge Elementary school zone.
Chesterfield County Police Department announced on social media that on Monday, March 23 they became aware of warning citations that were issued to drivers on Woolridge Road who did not exceed the posted speed limit in the school zone at Woolridge Elementary.
Officials stated that steps were immediately taken to correct the error and they are working with drivers who were affected.
Due to the error, a new 30-day warning period will take effect on April 6 for the school zone, after students return from spring break.
"The police department apologizes for any concern or confusion created by this error and remains committed to immediately addressing such issues as they arise," the post stated.
