Chesterfield Police find woman dead, man injured in vehicle after shooting

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A woman is dead and a man is seriously injured after a shooting early Sunday morning in Chesterfield County.
At around 12:22 a.m. on Sunday, March 2, Chesterfield Police responded to the 6300 block of Pewter Avenue for the report of a person shot.
When officers arrived on scene, they found two victims -- a man and a woman -- in a vehicle who were both shot.
According to police, the woman was found dead in the vehicle, and the man was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Officials said the identity of the woman is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.
