Chesterfield Police investigating body found in Appomattox, during search for missing man
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield Police is investigating the death of an unidentified male whose body was found in the Appomattox River Wednesday morning.
The body was found during a search for a man who went missing in the river while fishing with friends Tuesday night. It is not yet known if the body is that missing man.
Chesterfield and Petersburg Fire and EMS crews began the search Tuesday night and resumed Wednesday morning. No crews could be seen searching Wednesday afternoon.
Police said the body has now been transferred to the medical examiner for identification.
