Chesterfield Police investigating ‘suspicious death’ after man found dead inside vehicle

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Chesterfield County Police Department is investigating a “suspicious death” after a man was found dead inside a vehicle on Sunday morning.
At 9:36 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 23, the Chesterfield County Police Department said officers received a call about a man who had been found in a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound in the 4200 block of Lamplighter Drive.
When they arrived, officers found the man's body inside the vehicle.
His identity is pending notification of next of kin.
In a press release, Chesterfield Police said this incident is an ongoing investigation, and officers will remain at the scene for “an extended period of time.”
