Chesterfield sports bar damaged by discarded cigarette
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- A sports bar in Chesterfield County was damaged after someone discarded a cigarette improperly outside of the business.
At about 2:41 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, firefighters with Chesterfield County Fire & EMS were called to the 123 Dzo Sports Bar in the 11500 block of Robious Road for report of a fire.
When they arrived, firefighters went inside and found smoke coming up through the floor.
According to fire officials, those firefighters then identified the source of the smoke: a cigarette discarded outside of the bar, near a wall.

The cigarette smoldered and caused a hot spot between the wall and the bar's floor.
"Improperly discarded cigarettes and other smoking materials can easily start a fire in dry conditions," fire officials said. "Make sure to fully extinguish and dispose of in a proper disposal canister, not in the mulch or on the ground."
