Chesterfield teenager accused of shooting someone he knows in Colonial Heights
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) -- A Chesterfield County 17-year-old was arrested after police say he shot someone known to him at a Colonial Heights apartment in late November. Just before noon on Friday, Nov. 22, officers with the Colonial Heights Police Department were called to the 300 block of Branders Bridge Road for a report of a person shot. When they arrived, officers found an unidentified male sitting in the roadway with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening. According to police, investigators determined that the victim had been shot during an altercation at an apartment in the 1400 block of Branders Bridge Road. Detectives also learned that the suspect and the victim knew each other. PREVIOUS: Male shot at Colonial Heights apartments, possibly by someone he knew On Tuesday, Nov. 26, an unidentified 17-year-old Chesterfield boy was arrested in Hopewell with the assistance of the Chesterfield County and Hopewell police departments. Virginia State Police also aided in this investigation. The teenager faces four charges: malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied dwelling, possession of a firearm by a juvenile and the use of a firearm in commission of a felony. According to police, the teenager is being held at the Chesterfield County Juvenile Detention Center pending his next court appearance.
