Chesterfield to host e-cycling, shred event in June

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Chesterfield County is set to host an e-cycling and shredding event in June for residents to get rid of unwanted items.

The event will take place on June 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at Thomas Dale High School's Main Campus located at 3636 W. Hundred Road.

People have the opportunity to shred up to two small boxes or three grocery bags of personal papers per person for no fee.

Those willing to pay a fee can recycle the following:

• CRT televisions -- charged based on size
  • Less than or equal to 27 inches ($26 per television)
  • Over 27 inches ($37 per television)
• Hard drive, cell phone and tablet shredding -- $8 to $10.50 per item
• Other electronics -- $5.25 to $31.50 per item
