City of Richmond provides payment grace period for bills, taxes
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The City of Richmond announced on Sunday that they would provide residents with a payment grace period for due dates on taxes, tickets, bills and other expenses. The city reported on Sunday, Jan. 12 that recent closures may have had an impact on the ability of residents to "pay in a timely fashion through no fault of their own." The closures the city is referring to are likely those that resulted from the winter weather and recent water crisis. Therefore, the city is giving tax and ratepayers more time to pay any bills that are due in January, while also being free from incurring penalty and interest tied to late payments.
