Colonial Heights woman remains in critical condition after she was shot multiple times
COLONIAL HEIGHTS, Va. (WRIC) — A Richmond family is holding onto hope that their loved one will recover in the hospital after she was shot multiple times Monday night in Colonial Heights. According to the Colonial Heights Police Department, officers were called to the 1500 block of Concord Avenue just after 7:15 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21 for a report of shots fired. She was taken to Southside Regional Medical Center before being transferred to VCU Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition. "I [talk] to her, hoping that -- you know, she'll talk back to me," said Jacqueline Black, Brittini's mother, referring to her daughter's current state. "I'm waiting for her to talk back to me." Vines faces six charges, including malicious wounding, reckless endangerment of a child and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. A GoFundMe has been set up by the family, as they make Black's young son a priority at the moment. "We just want to make sure that he is set up for success and set up to [thrive] and ... live a life that I know his mother would be very proud of," said Christine Donald, Brittini's sister. Vines is currently being held at Riverside Regional Jail without bond pending his court appearance which, according to court records, is scheduled for Dec. 12.
