Community Cup event brings day of soccer, community building to Chesterfield
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Enjoy a family-friendly day of soccer and community at the 5th-annual Community Cup in Chesterfield County on Saturday.
The Community Cup will take over the River City Sportsplex, located at 13030 Genito Rd. from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4.
This free event is made possible through a regional partnership between Chesterfield, Hanover and Henrico counties, the city of Richmond and Virginia State Police, according to a Sept. 29 press release from Chesterfield.
"Join representatives from regional public safety agencies and local groups as they come together for a free, family-oriented, fun-filled day of soccer and community building," Chesterfield officials said in the release.
Local public utilities teams to conduct field tests for water main relocation project
Attendees will get to enjoy a soccer tournament, a community market and information booths, a kid's zone, food trucks and more. There will also be viewings of first responders' vehicles.
Gates will open at 9 a.m., with a youth clinic for kids ages 6 to 13 open from 9 to 10:30 a.m., officials said.
