County officials move to relocate 6 Chesterfield polling places
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Where some Chesterfield County voters cast their ballots in-person could change before the 2025 General Election.
During a regular meeting on Wednesday, March 12, the Chesterfield County Board of Supervisors unanimously approved an ordinance relocating six polling places throughout the county.
According to board documents, these relocations are necessary for various reasons, including multiple sites' inability or unwillingness to continue operating as polling locations. One site is being relocated to "enhance voter accessibility."
The board will now send the ordinance to the Office of Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares for review. If Miyares' office approves of the changes, the polling places will be relocated as proposed.
Here's a list of the proposed changes:

- Falling Creek Voting Precinct

- Current: Bensley Elementary School (formerly Falling Creek Middle School)
- Proposed New: Falling Creek Middle School, 4780 Hopkins Rd.
- Reason: A new building was constructed for Falling Creek Middle School, so the polling place is moving with the school.
- LaPrade Voting Precinct

- Reams Voting Precinct
- Current: North Courthouse Road Library
- Proposed New: St. David's Episcopal Church, 1801 Camborne Rd.

- Reason: The current location does not want to be a polling location anymore.
