Crashes on I-95, I-64 in central Richmond causing significant delays

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Two interstate crashes in central Richmond are causing delays for drivers in the area Tuesday afternoon, backing up both Interstate 95 southbound and I-64 eastbound.

The two crashes happened within ten minutes of each other on Tuesday, March 25, in the area of the I-95/I-64 interchange near N. 5th Street, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).

As of 4:42 p.m., all southbound lanes on I-95 near Chamberlayne Avenue are closed.

As of 4:38 p.m., the crash on I-64 has closed the eastbound left lane just above the I-95/I-64 interchange.
