CSX says loud train horn heard in Richmond was due to malfunction
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Many across Richmond were woken on Tuesday morning not to the sound of birdsong, but a continuous train horn that lasted for approximately an hour.
People from different parts of Richmond reported first hearing the sound around 8 a.m. on Tuesday, April 8. Some took to social media to say they could still hear the horn as late as an hour later.
8News reached out to a spokesperson with CSX, who explained the train had been en route to Acca Yard in Richmond when its horn malfunctioned.
"The issue has been resolved and we apologize to local residents for any inconvenience this morning," the spokesperson said in their statement.
