CSX to close two railroad crossings in Chesterfield for repairs

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- CSX will close two railroad crossings in Chesterfield County in early March for repairs, weather permitting.

In a press release shared on Friday, March 6, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced that CSX will close Brinkley Road and Kingsland Road in Chesterfield County for repairs to the railroad crossings, weather permitting.

The roads will reportedly be closed beginning at 6 a.m. on Monday, March 9, and reopen at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11.

VDOT said drivers should adhere to the following posted detour routes:

  • Brinkley Road:
    • Westbound Traffic: Head south on Chester Road, west on Old Lane, north on Hopkins Road, east on Thurston Road to Dorsey Road, back to Brinkley Road.
    • Eastbound Traffic: Travel west on Dorsey Road to Thurston Road, south on Hopkins Road, east on Old Lane, north on Chester Road, back to Brinkley Road.
  • Kingsland Road:
    • Westbound Traffic: Head south on Chester Road, west on Old Lane, north on Hopkins Road, east on Kingsland Road.
    • Eastbound Traffic: Travel west on Kingsland Road, south on Hopkins Road, east on Old Lane, north on Chester Road, back to Kingsland Road.
