Driver charged after tractor-trailer overturns on I-95 North in Petersburg
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A tractor-trailer driver has been charged after the vehicle they were driving overturned on Interstate 95 North in Petersburg Tuesday evening. At 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, Virginia State Police responded to a tractor-trailer that overturned on I-95 North in Petersburg. Police said the tractor-trailer was hauling "granite-type rock," and spilled some of its cargo. This caused all northbound lanes to close, though they later reopened, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation. According to officials, the driver had minor injuries and was charged with failure to secure their load, reckless driving and expired state inspection. Police continue to investigate.
