Event guide: Richmond’s Endless Summer of Pride

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- With Pride Month fast approaching, residents of the City of Richmond can expect multiple events coming to the area as part of the Endless Summer of Pride.

Hosted by Virginia Pride, the Endless Summer includes 10 events in June alone, offering people many chances to come out and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. Continue scrolling to a list of the planned events.

Dine Out for Pride -- June 1 to June 8

During the week of June 1 to June 8, several participating Richmond restaurants are offering signature dishes -- each dish sold means that $1 dollar will be donated to a local tourism campaign and Virginia Pride. Click here for more information and to see which restaurants are taking part.

Recovery Pridefest -- June 1

On June 1, from noon to 4 p.m., people can come out for a sober celebration of the LGBTQ+ community at Diversity Richmond. There will be drag performances, food trucks and recovery resource vendors, as well as a mocktail bar offered by Point 5. Click here for more information.

Blooming with Pride -- June 1

Come out to Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden on June 1 from noon to 4 p.m. for Blooming with Pride. People can browse artisan goods while enjoying live music, drag performance and a Polaroid photo booth. Click here for more information.

Big Gay Pride Market -- June 8

The Big Gay Pride Market will take place at Diversity Richmond on June 8 from noon to 4 p.m., offering people the chance to shop and support 70 different LGBTQ+ makers and artists. The event will also offer live music, drag performances, a raffle, mutual aid and more. Click here for more information.

Hot Take Dating Experience -- June 12

Hot Take RVA is hosting a unique dating experience at The Hoff, located at 2818 W. Broad Street, on June 12, starting at 7 p.m. You must be 21 or older to join, and people are encouraged to prepare a six-minute pitch for their single friends to create what Hot Take RVA describes as a "live-action dating profile." Pride Night at The Diamond -- June 13

Baseball fans can head out to The Diamond on June 13 to support the Flying Squirrels as they partner with Virginia Pride to celebrate Pride Night. PRIDE on Forest Hill -- June 14

People can celebrate Pride on Forest Hill Avenue from noon to 11 p.m., with multiple activities at and around Thirsty's RVA. A Pride Market will be held from noon to 5 p.m., followed by a Pride Picnic at Forest Hill Park at 5 p.m. The event will continue with Pride Happy Hour at 7 p.m. and a Pride Afterparty at 8 p.m. For more information, click here.

Pride Metal Night -- June 21

Metal fans can come out to Starr Hill Brewery on June 21 from 7 to 10 p.m. for a Pride Metal Night featuring three queer metal bands -- Terror Cell, Circle Breaker and Hynoki. It's a free show available to all ages, more information can be found here.

The King Bazaar: Muppet Pride -- June 21

People aged 18 or older can head to The Basement, located at 300 W. Broad Street, on June 21, starting at 6 p.m., for a night of drag kings and performance art. The event will feature drag kings, vendors, raffles and much more. Click here for more information and to buy tickets.
