Fast Feet Sports Academy owner to appear in court Tuesday for child sex charges

POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The owner of Fast Feet Sports Academy in Powhatan County facing charges for child sex crimes is due in court on Tuesday, April 8.

According to the Powhatan County Sheriff's Office, Joseph Edward Parker, 50, was first charged and arrested on March 20 on four counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child under the age of 13 and two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory role.

Then on April 2, he was indicted on eight additional counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13 years old and four additional counts of taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory role. He is facing 18 charges in total

However, Tuesday's court hearing will only focus on six of those charges that court documents said he committed in September.

According to court documents, he’s charged with four crimes he committed on March 1, 2023, and 14 crimes from Sept. 3, 2024.

Parker is the founder and operator of Fast Feet Sports Academy, a before and after school sports program. It closed on March 28.

The investigation is ongoing, but the Sheriff’s Office said all 18 charges involve multiple victims.

Parker will be in Powhatan Circuit Court at 9 a.m., and is scheduled to be in court again for his other 12 charges on Friday, April 11.
