Father arrested after 2-year-old boy shot in Richmond’s Fan District
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- The Richmond Police Department has arrested a man whose 2-year-old son was injured in a shooting earlier this month.
At 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, officers were called to the 1900 block of West Main Street for a reported shooting.
Upon their arrival, the officers were told a young boy had been shot and taken to a nearby hospital by his parents. Moments later, the hospital notified police that the child had arrived.
According to police, the 2-year-old boy had been shot in the thigh. His injuries were considered non-life-threatening.
On Thursday, April 17, Richmond Police announced that the boy's father, 21-year-old Ketrell Jackson, had been charged with felony child neglect in connection with the incident. The department said additional charges are pending.
