Firefighter hurt putting out Petersburg apartment fire
PETERSBURG, Va. (WRIC) -- A Petersburg firefighter was hurt while putting out a fire at the Ivy Gates apartment building Wednesday afternoon.
According to a Facebook post from Petersburg City Fire and EMS, firefighters arrived at a three-story multi-family apartment building the morning of Wednesday, April 2. The building was smoking, with a fire found in the attic.
All of those inside the complex were able to get out safely. While battling the fire, a firefighter was injured -- but the extent of those injuries is unclear as of the time of reporting.

Fire crews were practicing large water operations and relay pumping at Peabody Middle School before arriving at the apartment complex.
