For the Fem in You to host event celebrating Black love, art, music and more
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Local organization For the Fem in You will host an event on Friday in celebration of Black love, art, food and wellness. Ahead of the event, 8News met with organizers to learn more.
In the morning on Monday, Feb. 24, 8News Anchors Delaney Hall and Autumn Childress met with Andrea Daughtry, founder and director of For the Fem in You to hear about all the event will entail.
Daughtry said the event will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28 at Diversity Richmond, located at 1407 Sherwood Ave.
Attendees will be able to enjoy a celebration of Black food, art, wellness and music.
"Live music, dance, even, live DJs, amazing vendors, art, clothing, natural body care," Daughtry said regarding the event.
In addition to Friday's celebration, Daughtry said the organization will host "A Celebration of Women in Hip-Hop" on March 4 at Shockoe Sessions, featuring local artists.
For the Fem in You will also be hosting a Black Arts Market (BAM) monthly at Diversity Richmond beginning on March 16.
