Former Henrico NICU nurse charged with child abuse remains licensed to practice in 39 states and Guam
HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The former nurse at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) who has been charged with child abuse and malicious wounding remains licensed to practice nursing in 39 states and in Guam. Twenty-six-year-old Erin Strotman has been charged in connection to a five-month-old baby boy found with a fractured left femur, fractured right tibia and multiple rib fractures. According to the Virginia Department of Health Professions, as of Wednesday, Jan. 29, Strotman's nursing license was currently active. Her license was reportedly issued on May 30, 2019, and expires on May 31, 2026. The baby reportedly appeared to be crying in distress. Strotman last appeared in court on Jan. 22 when she attempted to appeal her bond for a second time, though no decision was made, because the judge said a psychological examination should be performed beforehand. Her next appearance in court will be on Feb. 11.
