Former Prince George school administrator faces new child sexual abuse charge
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Former Prince George County Public Schools administrator William Barnes, Jr. faces a new child sexual abuse charge, bringing the total to 10, following new allegations.
This follows nine previous child sexual abuse allegations filed against Barnes. His updated charges include:
- Four counts of aggravated sexual battery by force, threat and/or intimidation of a victim aged 13 or 14
- Three counts of taking indecent liberties with a child as a custodian
- Three counts of sexual assault by force, threat and/or mental incapacitation/helplessness of a victim aged 13 or older
The abuse dates back to the 1980s, involving victims between the ages of 13 and 14.
"Despite how long ago the alleged crimes occurred, those forty years technically don’t make a difference in the eyes of the law — at least when it comes to the decision on whether or not to prosecute," 8News legal analyst Russ Stone previously told 8News.
