Former Richmond DPU employee allegedly stole and misused public funds

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A former employee with Richmond's Department of Public Utilities has been indicted on grand larceny charges and misusing public funds for personal use, according to court records.

According to a city spokesperson, John Patrick LaBossiere previously worked as a power line specialist supervisor for the Richmond Department of Public Utilities.

After facing a grand jury on Monday, March 3, LaBossiere was indicted for grand larceny and using more than $1,000 of public funds for personal use within a year, according to court records.

The city spokesperson confirmed that Labossiere's last day with the city was Nov. 23 of last year.
