A power line fell down in front of the house early in the incident. Crews worked around the hazard while Dominion Power secured the line, per officials.

Firefighters were able to get the bulk of the fire under control within minutes. Due to the size of the structure and fire involvement, crews worked on the scene for about 2.5 hours.

Crews evaluated five civilians, including two children, and reported no serious injuries. One firefighter was also evaluated for exhaustion. He was treated on scene and returned to duty, per officials.

The Red Cross worked to assist four adults and two children displaced by the fire.
