Friendship Circle of Virginia to host 3rd annual Disability Expo in January
RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- Friendship Circle of Virginia will host its third annual Disability Expo at the Science Museum of Virginia's Dewey Gottwald Center in January.
The third annual Disability Expo is a free, community-wide event that organizers say is designed to connect those with disabilities, as well as families, caregivers and professionals, with resources throughout the Richmond area and throughout the Commonwealth.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, at the Dewey Gottwald Center, located at 2301 W. Leigh St. in Richmond.
Attendees can expect to see 80 nonprofits, service providers and businesses that offer support for people with disabilities.
Folks can explore a wide range of services, including adaptive recreation, therapeutic supports, employment programs, transportation solutions, assistive technology, residential options, inclusive educational tools, legal and financial planning and more.
Parking is free, and the event is open to the entire community. Attendees can also pay a reduced entry fee into the Science Museum of Virginia.
Organizers said the event offers a sensory-friendly environment as well as support that is available throughout the event.
The expo is presented by QTS Data Centers, sponsored by the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, and held in partnership with the Science Museum of Virginia.
