‘Giants’ art exhibition from Swizz Beatz, Alicia Keys opens at VMFA this November

RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A "seismic exhibition," featuring works from the collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, will be on display at The Virginia Museum of Fine Art (VMFA), starting in November.

"Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys," which the museum describes as a "seismic exhibition shaking up the art world," will be on display from Nov. 22 -- just days before Thanksgiving weekend -- until March 1, 2026.

According to a release from the museum, the exhibit will feature work from the world-class art collection of musical and cultural icons Swizz Beatz (Kasseem Dean) and Alicia Keys, as well as 130 works of art by 40 Black artists from Africa, Europe, the United States and the Caribbean.

"We need to be our most giant selves: to think our most giant thoughts, express ourselves in the biggest way possible, and give ourselves permission to be giants," Keys said.

Other featured artists include Derrick Adams, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Kwame Brathwaite, Nick Cave, Barkley Hendricks and more.

Tickets for current MVFA members go on sale on Sunday, Aug. 24, and general tickets will go on sale starting Monday, Sept. 8.
