RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) -- A new analysis shows that Virginia's favorite holiday cookie is gingerbread.
New data from Target revealed that the gingerbread cookie was the most popular holiday cookie for this holiday season. They were the overwhelming winner across the US, being crowned a favorite in 38 states, including Virginia.
Although gingerbread has been named the "unofficial cookie of the 2025 holiday season," there were still two other types of cookies included. Eight states had sugar cookies as their favorite, and four had shortbread cookies.
